iMet-54 Research Radiosonde

iMet-54 Research Radiosonde

The iMet-54 research radiosonde implements the XData and new high bandwidth XData1 protocols to relay data from 3rd-party sensors (e.g. ECC ozonesondes).  XData packets are transmitted together with the standard iMet-54 telemetry data. Reception and processing by the ground system and D-Met software offers a range of output formats for analysis and further processing.

  • Key Features

    Radiosonde features:

    • Standard radiosonde telemetry and XData packets transmitted at 1Hz
    • XData packets may contain up to 316 bytes, or 156 bytes with error correction
    • Dynamic application of error correction
    • XData packets include an automatically-appended CRC
    • Automatic handling of both XData and XData1 protocols
    • Plug-in interface lead with standard 3.5mm stereo jack plug
    • Internal, environmentally-controlled pressure sensor

    D-Met features:

    • ECC ozonesonde setup/preparation and data recording utility
    • Instrumentation metadata recording together with the sounding data
    • Instrumentation daisy-chain handling
    • Graphs and reports for data from known scientific instrumentation
    • CSV and textual exports of all XData
